Physical Therapist
Dr Kurilla has over 27 years of Physical Therapy experience in the areas of orthopedic, neurological and balance deficits. His treatment philosophy is “every pt is different and requires an individualized plan of care regardless of complaint or condition similarities”. Dr Kurilla establishes a rapport and works one on one with his clients throughout the course of treatment, allowing for constant re-evaluation and augmentation of his care plans.
Dr Kurilla received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Physical Therapy Degrees from College Misericordia, and later received his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Misericordia University. He is a founding partner of Independent Rehabilitation Services, Inc, with offices in the Ocean County/Monmouth County areas, which provides rehabilitation services to local outpatient clinics, patient homes and in private and public-school settings. Dr Kurilla oversees operations and provides services within the outpatient and home care divisions.
Dr Kurilla instructs his patients on therapeutic exercise to address muscle imbalances and strength deficits, and may utilize modalities, such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound, to help alleviate muscle spasm and inflammatory issues. Individual goals are established, with patient input, to return his clients to optimal levels of function. Dr Kurilla was trained by Titleist Performance Institute, where he performs motion analysis to isolate musculoskeletal issues and prevent injuries in golfers. Most common conditions seen in his practice include spinal strains/sprains, arm/leg injuries, vertigo, and balance/postural deficits.
